Signs & Wonders

Have you ever made Jesus toast with your laser engraver and thought, "I should make a book out of this"?

Me too!

In Signs & Wonders, slices of bread are pages. Stored in its plastic bag, it must be opened and the whole loaf removed in order to read the story. The name references both the bread on which it's burned and the normative miracles in modern Christian experience. The text reflects on my Catholic upbringing and the death of my mother. Whimsical AND heavy. Fun!

Currently this only exists in Google Doc notes and an InDesign file. The bread loaf I purchased with intent of lasering is one month from being a literal year old. It is shrunken and hard, but has zero mold. Wonderous.
